- Is there any cost involved for the competition?
Yes. There is an entry fee of SGD$5.00 per photo submitted. There are no other costs involved.
- What is the maximum number of photos I can submit for the ASIAN MOSAICS competition?
You can submit a maximum of 10 photos per entrant.
- Can I submit more than 10 photos?
No. Not more than 10 entries can be submitted per entrant.
- When is the submission deadline for the competition?
Entries will be accepted from 0:00hr (UTC/GMT +8 hours), 10 Aug to 23:59hr (UTC/GMT +8 hours), 30 Sept, 2010
- What is the submission criteria for the competition entries?
The submission criteria for the Asian Mosaic competition is as follows:

All images must satisfy the following conditions (Clause 2, 6,7, & 8 of the Competition Rules).
- Taken using either a digital or film camera but submitted in digital file format
- Reflect the travel theme and shot in an Asian country
- Have not won a prize in other national or international photography competitions at time of submission
- Do not contain obscene, provocative or inappropriate content
- Taken within the last 5 years
- Digital manipulation of image is limited to the following:
- Tonal and colour corrections
- Moderate sharpening and saturation
- Removal of dust specks and digital noise
- Image cropping
- High Dynamic Range (HDR) processing
- Panoramic image stitching from more than one original image
- Entrant is the author and owner of the copyright of submitted images and that the entries do not infringe on the privacy right, copyright or any other rights of any person
- Entrant is a resident of an Asian country
- The entry fee of SGD$5.00 per photo has been paid and verified received by the organisers of ASIAN MOSAICS
- Are there any restrictions on the nationality of the contestants?
There are no restrictions on the nationality of the entrants other than being a resident of Singapore and Malaysia, the winner is required to be present at the prize presentation at the Old School in Singapore on 13 Nov, 2010 by 7.30pm.
- What countries are listed as an Asian country?
- Do I lose all copyright to my submitted shot after the competition?
The copyright will, at all times, be retained by the photographer and, where an image or images are reproduced by the organiser or sponsors, the photographer will be credited. HOWEVER, the organisers and sponsors reserve the right to free reproduction and exhibition of the submitted images in all media, printed and on-line, but only in connection with ASIAN MOSAICS and SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL and its promotion.
- Can I collect back my exhibited prints after the exhibition?
Yes. The exhibited prints can be collected from 2902 Gallery at 11B Mount Sophia, #B2-09. The collection period will be from 15 to 20 Nov 2010, 11am to 8pm daily. Any uncollected prints after 20 Nov, 2010 will be disposed at the discretion of the organisers.
- When is the exhibition held?
The exhibition will be held from 29 Oct to 7 Nov 2010 from 10am to 10pm daily.
- Where is the exhibition held?
The exhibition will be held at City Square Mall, 180 Kitchener Rd, Singapore.
To get there: Farrer Park MRT Station Exit I (North-East MRT line).
- What happens if my entry is selected to be exhibited?
All short-listed entrants will be notified by email on 3 Oct 2010. Short-listed entrants will have up to seven (7) days to submit a high-resolution file of the selected images in TIFF format for the exhibition.
- Do I need to pay for the cost of printing and mounting the exhibited entries myself?
No. The exhibited entries will be printed and mounted by the organisers and sponsors of ASIAN MOSAICS TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION.
- What happens if I cannot collect my prize during the prize presentation?
Your prize will be forfeited and awarded to another entrant.
- What is the People's Choice Award?
Visitors to the ASIAN MOSAICS TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION exhibition will be invited to vote for their favourite images at the exhibition. Votes will be tabulated at the end of the exhibition and the entrant with the image receiving the highest number of votes from the public will be the winner for the People's Choice Award. The People's Choice Award will be presented at the Closing Ceremony of the Singapore International Photography Festival at the OldSchool, Singapore on 13 Nov 2010.
